This portrait pays tribute to Virgil Abloh and was made when I learned of his passing, which personally shook me deeply. It was thanks to his influence that I got into the world of design; I had been following him since 2016, when he burst onto the scene with his brand Off-White, at a time when fashion —especially hypebeast and streetwear— was starting to gain great relevance and influence among young people.

Without a doubt, Virgil forged a new path and left such a significant mark that Louis Vuitton took notice of his vision, creativity and ability to be ahead of his time, naming him artistic director of the brand’s menswear line.
